Kyoto University Grant-in-Aid for Creative Scientific Research

We will cope with the problems inherent in a design of autonomous mobile robots, a design of man-machine systems and a systemic functional emergence arising from the interactions among organic cells and non-linear material elements. We will carry out our research through active and progressive collaboration among all the group members, focusing on the following three subjects and seeking the possibility of fusion and integration between these disparate research topics:

Semiosis of Autonomous Mobile Robots that adaptively generates behaviors through physical interactions with the environment;
Semiosis of Dynamical Human-Environment Interactions and its interface design; and
Semiosis in Dynamic Cognition of living elements enabled by interactions among elements.
